Why Do Most People Fail At Internet Marketing

As I continue to refine what I want to say on this site, I find myself coming back to one very large concept that needs to be a part of your every day life, whether it’s running your own business or something else. That concept is persistence!

Why am I saying this? It’s pretty simple really.

If you’re just starting in internet marketing, you might have purchased one-course or another from some “guru,” used it for a few months and discovered is wasn’t working for you. What do you do? You go out and find another course from another “guru,” thinking THIS METHOD will be the one that works. Unfortunately, the same thing happens. It doesn’t seem to work – at least not for you. Of course, you see other people using the course making HUGE sums of money. “Why is this happening?” “Why is it not working for me?” you ask. It’s pretty easy to explain once you know what’s happening.

When it comes to internet marketing, there are many, many ways to make money on the internet. Many methods that are taught do, in fact, work. However, there are many variables that come into play which all affect the success or failure of a campaign.

  • The niche or market you pick – is there sufficient interest?

  • The domain you pick – is it an exact match domain or not?

  • The design of your site – does it funnel visitors to the sales page?

  • The SEO and marketing you are doing – how are you getting traffic?

  • The quality of traffic coming to your site – where are they coming from?

  • The product you pick – is it filling a need?

  • You sales page design – is it effective to convert visitors?

So, for example, if you were to follow one specific method taught in one specific course, a method that has worked for others, unless you duplicate ALL the variables exactly, down to the month and time of day ads are running, plus all other details, there is no way you will ever know for sure if YOUR particular venture will make money or not – even though you’re using the same methods.

So if it doesn’t work, what do you do? If you’re like most people, you either decide this method doesn’t work and move on to the next one, and you do this over and over again, or you quit.

You should know that many, many successful internet marketers had a lot more failures than successes. Many struggled for years until they finally hit it.

Kelly Felix, founder of Bring The Fresh, one of my favorite internet marketing courses, is one of them.

Here’s a perfect example of a course that works, run by a down to earth, up-front guy. It may not work for you immediately, it may not work for you after a few months. But the methods DO work. You just have to find the right combination of variables!

Which leads me to my important lesson for the day:

If you want to be a successful internet marketer, you’ll need to be persistent. If you’re using a PROVEN method and it’s not working, change one or more of the variables. If it’s still not working, change something else. Do something, but DON’T QUIT. If you do, you DEFINITELY won’t be successful – that’s for sure!
